As a platform for communication between artists and audiences, the “Young Piano Series” aims to assume long-term responsibility for the classical music of tomorrow and to appeal to and inspire a diverse audience with unique and accessible concert experiences.
Our three concerts in the 2023/2024 season are:

What will characterize the pianist of the future? This question formed the basis for the founding of the “Young Piano Series” and has accompanied us ever since in the development and direction of this new Bern concert series.

Eva Gevorgyan was born in 2004 and is currently studying at the Reina Sofia School of Music in the class of Stanislav Ioudenitch. The young pianist has received awards at more than 50 international piano and composition competitions around the world.
She has performed at numerous festivals, including the Verbier Festival, the International Chopin Festival in Duszniki-Zdrój, the Ruhr Piano Festival and the Music Fest Perugia. She has worked with many ensembles, including the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra and conductors such as Valery Gergiev, Vladimir Spivakov, Vasily Petrenko and Lawrence Foster.
In 2021, she was a finalist and winner of a special prize at the XVIII International Chopin Piano Competition. In 2023, she was the winner of the “Prix du Piano Bern”. So she is coming back to Bern for a full piano evening!

Magdalene Ho, the 19-year-old pianist from Malaysia. As the youngest finalist and winner of the International Concours Clara Haskil 2023, she convinced both the jury and the audience by winning four out of five prizes. In her first concert in Switzerland, she presents an intimate program with works by Bach, Brahms and Schumann.

On April 6, 2024, we will celebrate the young Swiss pianist Simon Bürki
With roots in Switzerland and the Ukraine, the 23-year-old pianist has been traveling internationally since childhood. At the age of eleven he won several prizes at the International Horowitz Competition in Kiev and the following year he made his debut at the Tonhalle Zurich with Mozart's Piano Concerto in D minor. He is currently studying in New York at the renowned Juilliard School. On April 6th he will conclude the first season of the Young Piano Series with a brilliant program.
